How Does It Work?

When you attend an appointment for red light therapy in our Hampton East Clinic, you will either lie down in our Bio-Bed 360; on a massage table or be seated in a comfy chair. All treatments involve exposing your skin and body to specific spectrum wavelengths for a set period of time. Whilst the process may resemble lying in a tanning bed, RLT does not involve any harmful UV rays. Users generally feel warmth but red light therapy should not be painful. One of our customers explained it best by saying it “felt like a gentle hug from the sun”.

Because the light penetrates at both surface level and deep into the dermal layers of the skin and beyond, it stimulates the mitochondria of the cells. Since the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, this stimulation creates more energy, allowing cells to repair themselves, create new growth, and work more efficiently. By boosting blood flow and cell energy, RLT triggers the natural healing and anti-inflammatory processes within the body.
